These questions and answers are provided
to help you understand InSite. Please contact
Client Services if you don't understand an answer
or if your question is not addressed.
Is every article from every issue
included?
No, every article from every issue is not included. Gale Group has selection policies
that guide our editors in the choice of articles from specific publications in
specific products. The policies are governed by subject matter and article
length. Very generally, an article must meet the subject criteria for a product
and be more than a half a page long.
How often are the Company directory
records updated?
Companies are contacted on an annual basis to collect updated information.
If Gale Group does not receive information back from the company, editors try to
update the information via alternative sources such as annual reports and
10K reports if they are available. Older records remain in the product even
if updated information is not attainable. The update date that appears in a
directory record reflects when any, but not necessarily all, of the information
has been updated.
Why isn't full text available for
every article?
InSite offers a significant amount of full text in its products. In order to do so,
we maintain relationships with publishers who have given us permission to
include their material in our products. However, we are not able to attain
permission from all publishers. For these publications we offer summaries of
articles. If you are interested in the full text from a specific publication,
please let us know by telling our content support team at 1-650-358-4643
or by filling out a feedback form. We will try our best to obtain permission
from the publisher to include full text.
How often is new information added
to InSite?
Gale Group produces new content each business day and makes it available in the
product by the beginning of the next business day.
How can I find out if a publication
I'm interested in is in InSite?
All subscribers have access to the Publication Lists section. Within this
section, there is a Master Publication List which is an aggregated list of
publications included in all the InSite products. Click on the letter
representing the first letter of the publication you are interested in and scan
the list.
Why do I sometimes see more than
one copy of an article when I'm searching two or more
products together? When searching Market
InSite in combination with another product, you may see some duplicated
articles. The overlap can be attributed to the merging of two companies,
Information Access Company (IAC) and Predicasts. The article selection
policies differ for the products historically produced by these two
companies, but in some areas the selection overlaps and the result is
duplicate articles.
Why don't the
records in Newsletter InSite have margin links like the other
products. Newsletter InSite is made up entirely of
newsletters articles. The focus of this product is to get the
newsletter content up quickly. The trade-off is that the
articles are not indexed and therefore, do not have any
margin links.
How do I save a copy of an article?
Printing and saving pages is a function of
your browser. Whatever is displayed on your screen at the
time you choose to print or save, is what will be printed or
saved. To print a page, click the Print
button in your browser's toolbar or choose File/Print
from your browser's menu bar. When the browser's
"Print" dialog box displays, select your print
options and click the OK button. To Save
a page choose File/Save As from your
browser's menu bar. When the browser's "Save As"
dialog box displays, enter a file name and select a save
option and click the Save button. To be able
to edit a document in a Word Processor, select the save as
"plain text" option.
I've checked boxes
for the articles I want. When I try to print them, I only get
the list. How do I get the articles? In order to
print articles, they must first be opened. To open them,
click on View Checked Items. Once the articles are displaying on your
screen, you can print or download them.
Please click your browser's Back button
to return to the page you came from.
